Agenda: Training ulama for professional courses
Mualana Muhammad Burhanuddin Qasmi sb;
Our real
interest lies in the interest of the ummah. If we have to make some changes in
present syllabus of DELL to make it more beneficial for the Ummah then we are
ready for it with open mind. Now you guys are teachers of MMERC, suggest me
what should we do and what would be the more binomial for the Ummah. We should
think of common interest of the ummah ignoring the individual interests of anyone.
We will sit with our honourable chairman sb and we will have meeting with voice
chancelars and chancelars of the university, educationists and Akabir of Darul
Uloom and senior alumni of MMERC before
we take a final decision.
Maulana Atiqurrahman Qasmi sb
الضرورات تبیح المحظورات۔
This is an
Islamic ruling which states that at the time of dire need, a risky decision can
be taken for the betterment of Ummah. When we started MMERC the situation of
the country was different form the present time. Now it is the call of age to
do something extraordinary involving in the mainstream of the educational
system.
We may
affiliate our institution to any central university and for third year we will
select some of them and they will be admitted in a coaching centre run by
MMERC.
Maulana Muddassrir Ahmad sb
There are two
points: (1) the pressing need of Ulama in the field of law and judiciary (2)
and the effectiveness of MMERS’s DELL course. Neither we can leave first one
nor we can spoil effectiveness of second one, therefore, we have to adopt such
a method which will serve our both the purposes. In my humble opinion as a
first step we should get recognition for our DELL course from any university
which should be at least equivalent to 10+2. Thereafter we should select
students for our two year DELL course adopting required changes in our syllabus
to support the recognized course. After completion of two years, we should
divide our students into three categories (1) we should send some of them to
different religious fields as we are doing now (2) and some of them should be
selected for professional courses such as law on the basis of obtained marks or
eligibility test and thereafter they should be sent to universities under
MMERC’s supervision providing financial assistance (3) and while some of them
should be left free to work their own.
Maulana Aslam Javed sb
We should not
recognize our students in any university otherwise our adjective to serve Islam
will be affected. For profession course, we should introduce a new course for
the fresher graduated of Madaris. If we become just a gateway of the university
then many ulama may convert to modern secular and even they may change their
Islamic identities, consequently, we will be blamed.
We should leave MMERC goes on in the same
pattern and we should think of any other ways to train the Ulama for
professional courses. We may take suggestions from the Ulama who are already
working this field such as Maulana Sajid sb the high court advocate and an
alumnus of Ishaatul Uloom, Akkal Kuwan. We may also consult Mr. Shafeeq,
Malegaun.
Mufti Jaseemuddin Qasmi:
We should think
of the interest of the Ummah. There is no logic to stay away from the
mainstream educational system. I believe that if DELL course holders are also
degree holders from national universities, they may serve Islam in more comprehensive
because they will be given chance to work in mainstream systems and thus they would
represent Islam among educated generations. We should also have a glance on the
MMERC achievements. 95 percent of the achievers are degree holders.
It is not matter
of being a gateway to the university because in university only finically
strong students will go which are very few in our institutions and if they want
to go they could go directly before coming in MMERC. The MMERC alumni who
learnt regularly in universities, they were far better Islamically than those
who directly enter in university after Madaris education. Our students do not
suffer from inferiority complex after securing DELL course.
So, we should start
the professional courses for Ulama. For the proposed project, we may affiliate
our institute to any central university, so that, they will be eligible to be
admitted in LLB.
We should allow
students to take admission in any open university and in third year we should
select some of them through eligible test and then they should be trained for
Administrative Exams in any coaching centre run by MMERC. In these three years,
their graduation will be complete and they will be eligible to appear in the
Civil Services Exams such as IAS, IPS etc.
If we observe
that our class system is disturbed due to permission to appear in the B.A exam
then we will just allow them to take admission in any specific University and we
will not allow them to appear in the exams during the academic year. In this
case, they will continue their admission for all three years and they will
appear in the exam in third year for all three years. This option is available
in open universities.
We may take
suggestions from Shaheen College, Bader which is running professional courses
for Ulama and Huffaz.
